MR. GREG MCKINNEY: Father/son dentistry team at Hendrickson Dental in Maplewood, Minnesota has been in the making for decades.

DR. MYRON HENRICKSON: We've been very close. And Michael has wanted to be a dentist from the time he was little because I was a dentist.

DR. MIKE HENRICKSON: I loved what my dad did. He got me involved in the office, let me see what he was doing when I was young. And I've always wanted to be a dentist since I can remember.

MR. MCKINNEY: Mike’s desire to be a dentist and around his dad has never waivered. In fact, he says their father/son bond has only been strengthened by their working relationship.

DR. MIKE HENRICKSON: That’s one of the great things about working with my father. Not only do I love him, but I enjoy working with him. I enjoy being around him. He’s one of my best friends.

MR. MCKINNEY: The team here at Henrickson Dental has a very simple philosophy as it relates to how they treat their patients, and it all has to do with the Golden Rule.

DR. MYRON HENRICKSON: I was raised on the Golden Rule, and that’s something that has been foremost with my kids. Do unto others the way you want them to do unto you. And so Mike has the same approach that I have.

DR. MIKE HENRICKSON: That’s my philosophy in life as well as my father’s. It’s rubbed off on me. We take that to the dental office.

MR. MCKINNEY: That genuine desire to help people achieve their dentistry goals is appreciated and felt by their patients.

GARY: There’s a family atmosphere here that I really enjoyed. And they're always welcoming. They even called me at home to see how I was doing. Everybody’s concerned about you. They know your name. You really feel at home here.

MR. MCKINNEY: Patients are often surprised at just how much they can get done all under one roof. MR. MCKINNEY: That technology includes a patient favorite known as “The Wand.”

DR. MYRON HENRICKSON: The Wand is a computer that gives the Novocaine to the patient. And it does it painlessly. When we use the Wand, many times I've given my patients injections and they asked me, “Well are you going to give me the injection?”

I said, “Well I already have.” I can’t tell you how many times that’s happened.

MR. MCKINNEY: Henrickson Dental also has a CEREC machine, which Dr. Henrickson calls “a tremendous invention” that allows them to make crowns for their patients in only an hour.

DR. MYRON HENRICKSON: To have a root canal and a crown done in most dental offices ends up being about four or five appointments. A patient can come in with a toothache and walk out completely done in one appointment. So they aren’t missing work more than once. We design the crown on the computer, and then we mill the crown in a mill in the next room. And we bond the crown in.

MR. MCKINNEY: They also have a water laser that allows them to do virtually painless root canals with tremendous efficiency and can even replace and restore dental implants. The bottom line here is this is a place for everyone. It’s a place where the words “family atmosphere” are more than just a slogan.
