Biolase Laser Dentistry

Posted under: 1 — Dr. Henrickson @ 2:35 pm

At Henrickson Dental, we use Biolase. It uses technology combining YSSG laser energy and a spray of water. This helps provide a wide range of dental procedures on teeth, gum and bone more comfortably. It allows dentists to cut teeth, bone and gum tissue and typically use fewer shots and less anesthesia. This reduces the patient’s anxiety and makes for a more comfortable dental experience.

At Henrickson Dental, we can fix up your teeth with a pain-free root canal procedure.

Plaque

Posted under: 1 — Dr. Henrickson @ 4:25 pm

You may wonder why brushing your teeth regularly is so important. Well, here’s the reason: it prevents plaque from taking over your teeth. Plaque is the sticky substance that coats your teeth and eats away at tooth enamel. This can also cause cavities. At Henrickson Dental, we can help you maintain a beautiful and healthy smile, but brushing at least twice a day and flossing at least once a day are very important for taking good care of your teeth.

You’re at the dentist, and they tell you that you have a cavity, but what is a cavity? A cavity is a hole in your tooth, and if you leave it unrepaired, it can grow bigger and bigger. The hole is made by plaque. The acids eat at the tooth enamel, creating the hole. Here at Henrickson Dental, we can repair your cavities with a pain-free procedure.

Amalgam Fillings

Posted under: 1 — Dr. Henrickson @ 7:19 am

At Henrickson Dental, we always do Composite fillings unless you request otherwise. But here’s the thing: composite fillings, also called white fillings, are much better for you than Amalgam fillings, which are also known as silver fillings. Unlike composite fillings, Amalgam contains Mercury, a potentially toxic element. Also, since amalgam fillings are silver, they do not match your teeth or make them look natural, while composite fillings do. They may be less expensive, but in the long run, they are not the best choice for you.
